"My top priority is to change the direction of our state government to benefit everyone in my district and throughout Texas."
Putting my experience
to work for you
I am firmly committed to leading our state toward practical policies that enhance the lives of ordinary Texans. As a clinical psychologist with a successful 30+ years of full time practice and as an adjunct professor at NCTC for 7 years, I have worked with regular people everyday. I know and value the importance of protecting and funding public education, expanding medical and mental healthcare access, increasing equality of opportunity, reducing the property tax burden on the middle class, advancing fair voting rights without egregious gerrymandering, and promoting individual rights, especially for marginalized groups. We also must preserve a woman’s right to make reproductive choices for herself, increase sensible assault rifle legislation, and address climate change to keep our planet livable. I pledge to work cooperatively for the good of everyone in my district and in Texas.
As a "preacher's kid," I grew up in small towns in the Midwest prior to coming to Texas to attend the doctoral psychology program at Baylor University. Through Baylor connections, I met my husband, who is a small-business owner (CPA) in Flower Mound. We have two married daughters, and two grandchild! Our strong work ethic and purposeful family values have led all of my family members to support and be involved in my candidacy for Texas HD 63.
